## I can't find Geer in the Appstore. Can I use this as a native app on Android and iOS?
Geer is a progressive web app, meaning you won't find it in the App Store or Play Store. The great news? You can still enjoy Geer just like a native app — no need to open your browser every time or deal with annoying browser bars. Simply save Geer to your home screen, and voilà! It's ready to go, just like a native app. Enjoy the ride! 🚴✨

## How does auto sync work?
Geer receives your new rides from Strava the moment they happen. That means your component stats stay up-to-date automatically — and you'll get maintenance alerts right when they matter. For most setups, real-time sync just works. However, in rare cases with more complex configurations, there might be limitations.

Geer updates automatically when you ...

- ... record or upload a new activity to Strava.
- ... update an existing activity's _title_, _type_, or _privacy settings_ on Strava.
- ... delete an activity on Strava.

Note that you won't get real-time updates if you only edit the _bike_ field. That's a Strava limitation.

To make sure nothing slips through, Geer runs a full Strava sync once a day — at 6pm. This keeps your ride data fresh, even if a real-time update is missed.

Need an instant refresh? You can trigger a manual sync anytime from the settings screen. Perfect if you're in a hurry or notice something's off.

## How can I install Geer as an app on my phone?
### iPhone (iOS)
1. Open Safari (only works with Safari)
2. Go to [app.geer.bike](https://app.geer.bike/)
3. Tap 
4. Add to homescreen

You must be on iOS 16.4 or later.

It only works with Safari! If you're using Chrome or another browser, simply switch to Safari for the installation process — you won't need it again afterward.

### Android
1. Open your browser
2. Go to [app.geer.bike](https://app.geer.bike/)
3. Go toSettings >Install the app
4. Tap Install
5. Follow the on-screen instructions

If above doesn't work, try this:
1. Open Chrome
2. Go to [app.geer.bike](https://app.geer.bike/)
3. On the right of the address bar, tapMore > Add to home screen > Install
4. Follow the on-screen instructions

For the best experience, it's recommended to use Android 8.0+ with Chrome 72+ (2019) or newer.

### Mac (OSX)

## Do I need a Strava premium subscription to use Geer?
No, Geer works seamlessly with any Strava account.

## Can I use just some of my Strava bikes for Geer?
Sure! Geer lets you hide specific bikes, keeping your dashboard clean and organized.

## Can I retroactively add service intervals that are in the past?
Absolutely! We understand it's easy to forget to log past services. No problem — just add them later, and our system will take care of the calculations for you. Simple and stress-free! 🔧

## What makes Geer the best bicycle maintenance tracker?
While Strava allows you to track your bike parts, it does have its limitations: it's desktop-only, doesn't provide maintenance suggestions, and won't notify you when a service is due. That's where Geer comes in! Our app works seamlessly on any device and offers all the features you need to keep your bike in top shape. 🚴🔧✨

## What happens if I change my phone? Is my data getting lost?
Your data is securely linked to your Strava account. Just log back into Geer, and all your information will be right where you left it — safe and sound! ✨

## Notifications seem to be blocked in my browser. How can I enable them?
### Google Chrome
1. Open Chrome browser
2. Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner
3. Go to Settings
4. Select “Privacy and security” in the left sidebar
5. Click on “Site Settings”
6. Scroll to “Notifications”
7. Toggle the switch to enable notifications
8. To customize specific site permissions, click “Add” under “Allow” section

### Mozilla Firefox
1. Open Firefox browser
2. Click the three-line menu in the top right corner
3. Select “Settings” or “Options”
4. Navigate to “Privacy & Security”
5. Scroll to “Permissions” section
6. Check the box “Notifications”
7. Click “Settings” next to Notifications
8. Add specific websites you want to allow notifications

### Microsoft Edge
1. Open Microsoft Edge browser
2. Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner
3. Select “Settings”
4. Choose “Cookies and site permissions”
5. Click on “Notifications”
6. Toggle the switch to enable notifications
7. Use “Add” button to specify allowed websites

### Safari (macOS)
1. Open Safari browser
2. Click “Safari” in the top menu
3. Select “Preferences”
4. Go to “Websites” tab
5. Select “Notifications” in the left sidebar
6. Check “Allow websites to ask for permission to send notifications”
7. Re-open the tab

### Opera
1. Open Opera browser
2. Click the Opera logo in top left corner
3. Go to “Settings”
4. Navigate to “Advanced” > “Privacy and security”
5. Select “Site Settings”
6. Click on “Notifications”
7. Toggle global notification settings
8. Add specific website permissions

## What happens if I downgrade?
Your data stays. If you're already within free limits (2 bikes, 5 components), nothing changes — tracking continues as normal. If you're over the limits, tracking pauses until you're back within them. Just hide a bike or delete a component, and everything resumes. Nothing is ever deleted.

## How does the referral program work?
For every friend you refer to Geer, you get 1 month of Pro for free. Refer 10 friends and you'll get Pro for life. A referral counts once your friend has verified their email address and added at least one component. Your reward is applied 7 days after that.
